KLM Wants To Fly You To Amsterdam For Summer's Biggest Pride Celebration

The sky’s the limit.

Written by Michelle Guerrere

On July 25, crowds from around the world will descend on Amsterdam for WorldPride 2026, the global event of the summer. And the location is no accident. Amsterdam isn't just one of the most welcoming cities for LGBTQ+ travelers — it's a place filled with centuries-old history and famous Dutch warmth, whether you’re a local or a lucky visitor. From its storybook canal system and iconic townhouses, to lush, thoughtfully designed green spaces, Amsterdam is a destination that must be experienced to be believed. The city is also marking its 25th anniversary as the birthplace of same-sex marriage. This means WorldPride will be more legendary than ever, with special events and one-of-a-kind activations to prove it.

As the official airline partner of WorldPride 2026, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (and SkyTeam partner Delta Air Lines) are doing more than just flying you there. This year’s WorldPride theme is Unity, which goes hand-in-hand with KLM’s ethos that traveling well is about more than just about getting you from Point A to Point B. So whether this is your very first Pride celebration or you’ve been marching for decades, there’s never been a better reason to book that flight and experience the city where it all began.

Here’s what to expect at WorldPride this year.

So Much To See

One of the coolest parts of WorldPride is that it adapts each year to showcase the history of its host country — and this year, Amsterdam is delivering in a big way. The programming spans two full weeks, from an Open-Air Film Festival and Queer Market to the massive Unity Concert in honor of the event’s theme.

Then there’s Amsterdam’s iconic Canal Parade, which sets sail on Saturday, August 1, with around 80 boats from Asian Pride to The Equal Rights Coalition. Expect boats to go all out with high-energy music sets (some even have their own DJ!), dancers, drag performances, and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own good vibes as they cheer on the boats while decked out in their favorite vibrant looks. So Much To Do

During the second week of WorldPride, Pride Village will be the meeting place for all LGBTQ+ organizations. The location is unmatched: It’s nestled in Museumplein, the historic arts hotspot surrounded by Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, and the Stedelijk Museum. The famous square is a cultural connector, full of colorful stages, food trucks, bars, and a must-visit booth from KLM and Delta.

KLM will also be a part of the Human Rights Conference from August 5 to 7, joining activists and Pride organizers by contributing meaningful insights about equal rights. The celebration of the freedom to be yourself will close out with the Pride March, where attendees and partners like KLM will walk in solidarity with those who cannot be there.

So Much Happening In The Skies

And if you need one more reason to book your ticket, KLM’s new World Business Class delivers the ultimate in luxury above the clouds. Settle into a full-flat seat and arrive in Amsterdam ready to hit the ground running, with complimentary touches like an eye mask, cozy socks, and beauty products from Marie-Stella-Maris. Indulge in three-course meals, sip fine wines, and fuel up for the next-level celebration with plenty of snacks.

Plus, every World Business Class passenger is gifted a collectable Delft miniature house souvenir, filled with Dutch gin — perfect for toasting to the most unforgettable Pride ever. Our pro tip? Bring it with you when you visit the actual building during your trip for the cutest photo op ever.
