Lizzo Finally Dropped Her Skin Care Routine

Apparently she's an "oily bitch" who likes to stay hydrated

by Tembe Denton-Hurst

No one's had a busier, or more eventful summer than Lizzo. But, between performing all over the world, making fans out of our favorite celebs, and dropping gems along the way, our good sis has somehow managed to maintain a flawless, poreless, complexion.

The "Tempo" singer revealed just how she keeps her skin so supple to theNew York Times yesterday, and it's unsurprisingly relatable. First things first, Lizzo gets breakouts just like anyone else. After sleeping in her makeup for weeks on end, the singer checked herself into "skin rehab" with the help of longtime makeup artist Alexx Mayo. "I was in face masks—the Peter Thomas Roth green tea face mask, literally every night," she told the Times, adding that Mayo also introduced her to Sunday Riley products, which Lizzo now uses almost exclusively. Her favorite might be the C.E.O. Glow Oil (which contains good-for-skin ingredients like turmeric and vitamin C), and she also reaches for the Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser as her nighttime face wash.

Skin care products aside, Lizzo makes sure she starts her day with hydration. "I believe in water first thing. Water is really important for face and hair." In addition to drinking it, the singer also likes to start her morning with a spritz of Evian Water Spray to the face.

As for sun protection, Lizzo is now devoted to daily SPF following a recent trip to Hawaii. "I got burned because I didn't use sunscreen," she shared, "so I've been really adamant about having some kind of SPF in my moisturizer." At the moment, the singer alternates between the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer.

While many of us cringe at the thought of what our skin would look like after enduring nonstop long flights, sweaty performances, and late night studio sessions, that's Lizzo's normal, and she makes it look effortless. Stars, they're... not like us.
