Tyler The Creator's Converse Collaboration Is '00s Velvet Perfection
I need one of each please
Tyler the Creator's new sneaker collaboration is peak '00s fashion. GOLF le FLEUR*, Tyler's fashion brand, teamed up with Converse for a capsule of velvet sneakers that would go perfectly with your Juicy Couture tracksuits left over from the '00s; this is a continuation of his collection for the popular shoe brand that launched back in 2017.
All three styles—a high-tops and two low-tops—are made in quilted velvet, with the traditional star symbol traded for a flower, more closely aligned with the imagery of GOLF le FLEUR*. "This is the output of an artist who makes his own style rules," Converse said of the collaboration in a press release. "Re-defining the 'Summer sneaker' through a style-led execution, the collection continues Tyler's focus on nuance, born out of his infatuation with making luxe style accessible and personalized." Velvet isn't exactly a summer fabric, but that won't stop me from pairing these with shorts and dresses even as the temperatures rise.
The shoes will be available for purchase starting May 17 on the Converse website and in stores, as well as through Golf Wang. Check out each of the styles, below, and try your best to choose your favorite colorway before they hit the stores.
